Description
Unfiltered version of “Zaku Ho no Tomo” which won SAKE COMPETITION No. 1 in the Junmai Sake category.
It is perfect for in-meal sake with a fruity yet calm aroma and a slightly dry finish.
Immediately after opening, the ultra-fine carbonic acid that pops with bubble wrap creates a refreshing taste.
As time goes by, the carbonic acid feeling fades, and at the same time, a rich flavor appears.
Produced by Shimizu Seizaburo Shoten, Mie Japan
Shimizu Seizaburo Shoten was established by Seizaburo Shimizu in 1869.
The pellucid water originating from the Suzuka Mountains and supply of good rice from the Ise Plain made this place as a right place for sake brewing.
Zaku has been served at G-7 Summit 2016 banquet. Created by local rice and local water, Zaku series is has its own focus on high aroma and clean finish.
Tasting notes
Appearance Crystal clear with a lively sparkle. Nose Fresh aromas of lychee, white peach, red apple, and delicate rice sweetness, complemented by subtle floral notes. Palate Silky and vibrant, offering juicy orchard fruit, gentle umami, lively acidity, and a fine natural pétillance. Bottled directly after pressing, it captures the freshness and energy of a namazake while remaining pasteurised. Finish Clean, crisp, and refreshing, with lingering fruit, subtle richness, and an elegant, slightly dry finish. As the bottle breathes, the gentle effervescence softens and a deeper layer of umami gradually emerges.
Serving
Suggestions: Well chilled (5–8°C): Essential to preserve its freshness and fine pétillance. Serve in a wine glass to enhance its expressive aromatics.
Pairs with: Oysters, White fish sashimi, Tempura, Oil-based pasta, Yakitori, Cheesecake
