Α. & G. PAPAIOANNOU is an estate founded by Thanasis Papaioannou, often referred to as the “guru” and pioneer of Nemea. Back in the 1980s, when Agiorgitiko grapes were often blended anonymously into large wineries or sold in bulk with unknown quality, Thanasis Papaioannou disrupted the scene. His vision was to create wines that retained their unique characteristics, reflecting the grape variety and the vineyard’s position. He championed the idea of quality over quantity, which has become a hallmark of the estate.

Tasting notes

Light-medium-bodied with aromas of hawthorn and wild herbs, complemented by a touch of pear and quince. The wine offers a lovely silky texture and finishes with a soft, dry note
