Produced from old-vine Agiorgitiko, this mature Nemea expresses remarkable depth and elegance. Rich dark fruit, savoury spice, and silky tannins are beautifully integrated with the complexity gained from age, leading to a long, refined finish. A classic expression of Greece's flagship red grape.

Α. & G. PAPAIOANNOU, located in the vast Nemea region of Greece, boasts the largest vineyard area. This family-owned winery features a small bottling line, an expansive barrel cellar, and a modern tasting hall. All their vineyards are certified organic. Notably, they own the renowned Nemea vineyard, nestled near the remains of the Temple of Zeus—a perfect spot for tourists’ selfies. Thanassis Papaioannou, the winery’s founder, is one of Greece’s oldest winemakers.
Tasting notes
Appearance Deep ruby with garnet highlights. Nose Complex aromas of ripe black cherry, plum, dried herbs, sweet spice, cedar, and subtle vanilla, with hints of leather and tobacco from bottle ageing. Palate Full-bodied and elegant, offering layers of dark berries, cherry, cocoa, and warm spices, supported by fine tannins and balanced acidity. Finish Long, smooth, and persistent, with lingering notes of black fruit, spice, and earthy minerality.
Serving
Suggestions: Serve at 16–18°C. Decant for 30–60 minutes to allow the wine to fully open.
