This Bourgogne Côtes d'Auxerre Rouge from the Domaine Verret is a striking example of what a Pinot Noir in Burgundy is. Starting with generous fruity notes, subtle floral aromas then come discreetly but with time you will get close to hard to catch, fleeing spicy undertones. Elegant and delicate its Burgundian background cannot be denied. Cherries and blackberries evolve from fresh to ripe and with time to jam savours with this ever so present terroir underlay. The length is amazing leaving an unforgettable fruity sensation on the palate.

Pairs with: A great pairing would be trying it with the local grilled chitterlings sausage or with a "coq au vin" (poultry slowly cook in a red wine broth). It could also prove to be a good surprise with monkfish in tomato, herbs, spices and wine sauce or a grilled tuna steak.
